DeNeen Brown is a professor of journalism at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. For more than three decades, she was a reporter at The Washington Post where her work on topics including the middle class, the homeless, culture, race, Black history, urban gentrification, poverty, and the environment has won national recognitition. She also served as The Post's correspondent in Canada.
